Hong Kong’s growing ageing population has created a need for professionals to be equipped with multi-dimensional knowledge and skills related to ageing practice, such as in health and welfare and biological, psychological, sociological, technological, and environmental factors. However, current education for professionals who may be involved in providing care to the elderly, typically health and social care practitioners, is highly specialized, which precludes a watertight continuum of care for the elderly. IAA is committed to developing interdisciplinary education to produce all-rounded professionals who will be able to holistically assess and meet the multiple needs of older adults in a comprehensive continuum of care.
