The quality and fulfilment of old age are largely determined by how older adults are treated by society. Everyone should have the right to age with independence, dignity and purpose. Older adults are not only a valuable asset of the community but also an important source of untapped human capital. Their knowledge and wisdom should be valued, shared and passed on.

Tapping their wealth of experience, IAA aims to actively engage older adults in the development of lifelong education and community services for Hong Kong’s ageing population, as well as of volunteer work, research activities, and advocacy for issues related to Hong Kong’s policies affecting ageing.
